SISU Timber
SISU Timber is a factory-ready timber truck. The quality of a SISU Timber truck is based on the unique know-how of the special requirements of timber transports in extreme arctic conditions. In difficult conditions and with a heavy load the significance of the frame is of utmost importance. The frame of a SISU Timber is provided with excellent torsion and flexural rigidity qualities, which ensures stable manoeuvrability irrespective of the load. Even unloaded the grip of SISU Timber is excellent, since the sturdy frame will distribute engine power effectively via the drive axles to the ground.
The SISU Timber is available as 6x2 or 6x4. In both versions the last axle can be lifted even when loaded. Combined with wide front wheel turning the truck is very agile. The front suspension with extra long leafs increases stability and drive comfort. Strong frame, superb drive axles and suspension ensure outstanding manoeuvrability.
Everything required for the crane operation and binding the load has been factory-installed. In addition, all chassis components, pipes and tubes, the cooling system and the fuel tanks are protected against dirt and ground contacts.
When designing SISU Timber, the vehicle technical qualities and the driver's working conditions were both taken into account. Work safety as well as the driver’s cab spaces and functions have been considered from timber driver’s point of view. The spacious cab has been designed both for driving and office requirements. The arched dashboard provides also desk space.
